Professor Elias Gallegos began his training in 1996 after meeting legendary BJJ instructor Fabio Santos (Red and Black belt under Rolls and Rickson Gracie).

Professor Elias has been the head instructor at a number of successful academies and gyms in the San Diego area. He is a very patient and knowledgeable instructor with over 20 years of training and teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under his belt. In all of the competitions he has entered he has never placed lower than 3rd in his division. He is a VULKAN OPEN champion, NABJJF North American Champion, and a BRONZE medalist at the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS (IBJJF NOGI) as well as a Silver Medalist at the IBJJF Nationals. Professor Gallegos has also studied boxing, as well as Sambo, Greco Roman Wrestling, Catch Wrestling, and Judo. He believes that jiu-jitsu is first and foremost a martial art for self-defense and runs one of the only academies in San Diego that actually teaches jiu jitsu for both sport and self defense.
